About Me
Hi I’m Tom O’Leary.
I am the guy you see above with the ”Race-bred” side burns. I am a “serious” runner, cyclist and triathlete. These aspects of my life go in partnership with being a “serious” husband, father, writer and all-round idiot, none of which allow me to take myself too seriously.
I consider myself an Australian, but I am currently living in Japan, which gives me a whole lot of opportunities and headaches as a runner. My competitive focus in running is the marathon, but I love all forms of road racing and training.
My aim in writing runningmonkeys is to assemble a mountain of accessible information that helps runners to achieve their potential. I will have succeeded if I able to promote road running as a passion that can bring more life to any one’s life.
My personal running goals include (but are not limited to) running a 2 hr 15 marathon before April 2010. I am achieving this goal by carefully, gradually and scientifically training my body in the ways that I write about in these pages. No secrets, no magic potions…just excellent training and preparation.
I can be contacted by email on
Thanks
Tom O’Leary
About Running Monkeys
Runningmonkeys is THE site for anyone who considers themselves to be a serious runner, but has also been blessed with a sense of humour. We are an elite group who has realised that it is not only possible to endure running, it can also be thoroughly enjoyed. In order to make this enjoyment possible for people all around the world, I have built this site. It contains performance articles and tips, mixed with entertainment and whatever else comes along. If you read this site thoroughly you will be inspired, educated and trained and the best bit is your next marathon time will be improved by at least 22 minutes or your money will be 100% refunded. What money? Exactly!
